Not to take anything away from the story of GVSU's relation to Music for 18 Musicians, but live recording on Hungaroton of the same piece by the Hungarian percussion quartet Amadinda & musicians is also well worth checking out.

The Hungarians created their own score, before Marc Mellits, based on the sketchy "shorthand" parts written by Reich for his longtime band members and comparing this information with the original recording. That's an amazing way to derive a performable score and the result is a really great performance of the work.
